Taking care of your candle

I know, I know, a lot of us are very busy (myself included) and the idea of one more thing to look after sounds like a chore. But trust me when I say, candles are the most minimal effort 'pet' you will ever have! Even less effort than that tamagotchi you had in the 90s.

Taking some small measures to look after your candles, is not only important for safety but also to help elevate your scent!
To get the most out of your Inniscent Candle, follow these simple steps:

Never light a candle near a draught

It goes without saying that having a flame whipping up a storm around an open window, is not ideal. We want flames that are performing a peaceful ballet dance, and not a rave.

Keep your candle away from water.
Candles and water do not mix! Yes, I know we all love a candle-lit bath. But unless you are Rev Run, with a blackberry and a fire marshal close by, then do not attempt this at home.

Trim Your Wick

Your Inniscent candle will arrive perfectly trimmed for your first use. We recommend you trim your wick after each subsequent burn to a length of approximately 1/4 inch. This will remove the carbon build up on your wick and will prevent the tip of your wick curling, and looking like a mushroom.

The First Burn

The first time you light your candle, ensure you allow it to burn for a minimum of 2 hours. This is really important to get the best scent, avoid suffocation of your wick and to ensure an even wax pool. So with this in mind, we recommend you make an occassion of your first burn. Grab your cosiest loungewear, Netflix at the ready, a large bowl of snacks and a glass of wine. Perfection!
